O's Notes: Ramirez plays sax and wrote and co producer most of the music on Tres. The band is a trio with Marcus Williams keeping time and Oteil Burbridge playing bass on the first seven selections then deferring to Rev. Oliver W. Wells (B3) for the next six selections. The groove is modern bop that has a contemporary feel. "Sitting With The King" is a solid track with excellent work by Burbridge. Tomas plays melodies that span a wide range from free jazz to bop to funk. The second had has a more bluesy feel courtesy of the Hammond. Guest artists Sean O'Rourke (d) and Rosa Canales Perez (spoken word) join Ramirez to put a large dose of funk into the finale placing an accent of the session.

O's Notes: Sinatra fans will be in heaven listening to Davi's tribute to 'old blue eyes'. Robert Davi is an actor with a full rich voice. His many acting credits include appearances in Die Hard, Showgirls, The Goonies and License to Kill. But his first love was singing and the release is a return to his passion. A scintillating 50-piece orchestra conducted by Nick Tenbroek backs Davi. For sure he does justice to a dozen Sinatra classics.

O's Notes: Triosence is a German band and Sara Gazarek is from Seattle! They get together for Where Time Stands Still to marry the two music cultures. The beat is funky, European cool with Sara adding the American pop vocals. The results are enjoyable on many fronts and fall into the realm of clean contemporary jazz mixed with folk style vocals. It works!

| Instrumental | Piano |
O's Notes: Pianist Yelena Eckemoff leads a trio with bassist Mats Eilertsen and Marilyn Mazur on drums. Forget-me-Not is her self-produced album with ten selections. Among the best are "Five", "Trapped in Time" and "Quasi Sonata". But this is a mixed bag with half of the music on the free jazz side in contrast with the aforementioned. Sound quality is excellent all the way through encouraging listeners to stay engaged for all elements.

O's Notes: Songwriter Scott Evan Davis is honored to have assembled a team of singers to celebrate his work. Among the many are Julie Reyburn and Natalie Douglas. The band is a quartet with David Snyder (p), Amy Ralske (cello), Jason Brook (fl) and Brian Shaw (oboe). Scott takes the mic for the finale "I Am" to cap a heartfelt set.
